Built in 1848 and licensed in 1853, the Hermitage Hotel is the heart of what is believed to be the oldest inland settlement in Victoria.
Set on the main street, our much loved, historic building, offers a step back in time with all of the modern experiences you would expect from a quality hotel.
Over the past five years, the hotel has undergone extensive restoration works and that will continue over the next 12 months, to ensure the Hermitage remains a feature of our beautiful little town.
The Hermitage is proud to be part of a small, but active community, regularly hosting and participating in a range of events from the renowned Harrow Bush Billycarts and Johnny Mullagh Memorial Cricket Match weekend, to seniors’ days out and the Harrow Sound and Light Show.
Accommodation
Traditional style, old-world charm and modern comforts of our refurbished Shearer’s Quarters offer a comfortable and unique accommodation experience. Rustic polished floorboards, period furniture and quality linens are a feature in every room.
Including help-yourself Continental style breakfast, our rooms are the perfect place to rest your head while spending time in and around Harrow.
Dining
From the charming atmosphere of our upstairs dining room, the quirky aspect of our saloon dining room or a social meal at our beautiful solid red gum bar.
The Hermitage Hotel serves dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 6.00 pm, lunches on Saturday and Sundays from 12 noon. Pizza every Sunday evening from 5.00 pm.
Thursday night is Schnitzel night – a chicken or beef schnitzel with salad and chips AND your choice of sauces AND a pot of beer or soft drink or glass of house wine for just $15.00!
Our lunch and dinner menus range from the faithful traditional fare through to a fine choice of Chef specials – all cooked to order.
